The Memorial for the 14 Fallen Defenders at MacDill AFB

On January 31, 2017, 8 years from when Lt. Helton was "boots on the ground" in Iraq, "In Defense of Freedom" was dedicated to the 14 Fallen Defenders since 09/11.  Retired Colonel Dennis Keegan initiated the project in the fall of 2015, by commissioning the statue that sits atop the granite base. With the help of Darwin Bush who made the majority of the contacts, Dick Danner of Danner construction donated the concrete for the base and sidewalk, and the brick, Ted Freeman of Danner construction donated labor and oversaw the construction. Tom Burkett raised the funds necessary to pay for the granite base and the inscriptions, Electric Supply, inc, donated the light fixtures, Jim Gruzlewski and Joe Grossman provided the electrical work.  more to follow....
